In a case that has shocked the residents in and around Chicago, a man who had been out of prison for only six months has been charged with the act of beating an elderly woman after which he decided to use her anniversary rings to propose to his girlfriend just a short time later. The man is now charged with first degree murder and robbery and will not be let out on parole as he is being remanded without bail to jail. The police said that the victim had been a nurse for forty years and was returning home from visiting her husband who was in the hospital.
